The Gosset Abdominal Retractor is a commonly used instrument to expose abdominal viscera.The features are P-shaped lateral blades to facilitate the patient's size and adjusted to the vertical bar to move apart the opening. It holds back tissues and organs of the abdomen during laparotomy and thoracic surgery. It has two sharp blades mounted on the bar that can be separated to open the incision. It also has a self-retaining mechanism that allows the blades to keep the incision open without the surgeon needing to hold it.
